In a recent post, Richard Bair told that a lot more JavaFX code has just been handed over to the OpenJFX Community.
He announced more (“glass, image I/O, and much of prism”) to come “within the next two weeks”, followed by the remainder of prism, web, and media sources “within the next one-to-two months”. For the record, the last remaining closed source module, javafx-font, is planned to be replaced by respective native APIs calls.
Interestingly, the once demonstrated, existing iOS and Android implementations of JavaFX will also be open-sourced in the near future. This is great news, especially since there was only silence regarding the mobile future of Java FX!
