SpringSource Tool Suites 3.0.0 released – based on Eclipse 4.2 Juno

SpringSource has released the SpringSource Tool Suites in version 3.0.0, which are based on the latest Eclipse release 4.2 (Juno).
STS is now available as two different distributions:

  • Spring Tool Suite – Formerly known as SpringSource Tool Stuite, this full distribution is packed with support for many Spring technologies like Spring Framework, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, Spring Webflow and Spring Data. It is bundled with tc Server Developer Edition and Spring Roo.
  • Groovy/Grails Tool Suite – This distribution has support for Groovy and Grails projects and is bundled with a Grails installation.

Besides installing STS as a full distribution, you can also install parts of STS into Eclipse. For the first time, you can install Grails support into an Eclipse installation without installing a full STS.
To install parts of STS, you can use individual update sites or use the Eclipse Marketplace and choose the components of STS that you need.

The parts of STS that have been closed source before are now open source projects at GitHub (Eclipse Public License), so STS is now fully open source software.

See the official blog post for further details, or start downloading STS (Spring Tool Suite) or GGTS (Groovy/Grails Tool Suite).
