The final release of JDK 7 is rescheduled again. Actually it was planned for end of 2010. In Re-thinking JDK 7 project lead Mark Reinhold writes that the release of JDK 7 with all announced features can’t be finished until 2012 (plan A). In plan B he suggested to reschedule some of the interesting features (e. g. modularization, project Lamda, parts of project Coin) to JDK 8, coming end of 2012. JDK7 delays anyway until mid 2011. And closures are canceled again, it’s a kind of Déjà-vu.
