Hibernate 3.6.0 and moving to Git and Gradle

The Hibernate team has released Hibernate Core 3.6.0 Final. Important changes are dropping JDK 1.4 support and merging Hibernate annotations into Hibernate Core.

Along the way they changed some important things in their infrastructure. They moved their source code repository from Subversion to Git. It is now hosted at github (http://github.com/hibernate). Another big change is the switch from Maven to Gradle, a big hit against Maven and especially the just released release 3.0.
